Any level of Team Leader is responsible for creating a highly performing team. The Team Meeting is the main tool for the Team Leader in building their team. Meetings aren’t always productive and interesting in the real world. Meetings can become boring, repetitive, and monotonous events. It is easy for participants to turn off, to lose interest, or to get completely uninvolved in the process.

It is not surprising that Team members are quick to forget what they have learned in the meeting and leave it. Many times, they don’t hold any commitment to the shared purpose or to the action points agreed upon at the meeting. These people are not necessarily bad. We could have predicted the outcome of this meeting.

On the contrary, a well-planned and organized Team meeting is quite the opposite. Team members leave the meeting feeling like they achieved something, that they participated in the process, and that they are motivated for follow-up actions. The Team Leader wants to see the Team engaged and full of new ideas. They won’t place them around a table that will cause the atmosphere to quickly turn cold. They will either move the Team to a different place or get rid of it.
